There’s a lot to launching a book. This is an understatement! This time, I may have come CLOSE to getting it right. Maybe. One obstacle is that so many acts must fall into place at once (like getting the turkey, gravy, rolls, mashed potatoes and side dishes all ready at the same time.) I did my best at that, too.

But this book has been different. For one thing, the title evaded me until nearly submission time. For another, achey, owie, arthritic fingers battled all the way. More than once, I doubted that Kin’s story would ever reach publication.

Several encouragements cheered me to keep on…but the absolute most important was the voice of a friend, a fellow writer. Without her, Sunshine Alley might still be a nameless back path across a Texas property.

BUT. She reminded me of my calling. She urged, “The parts I’ve read tell me that this may be your best writing ever. The story deserves for you to persevere.”

So I did. Thank you. You know who you are.

Of course, I’m glad, now that this novel has taken its rightful place. From the finish line, it’s easier to think, “Yep. Readers will resonate…this book is important…”

Then came some early reviews, from authors and friends who’ve read my work over the years. Though they have full platters, they answered my request for help as the manuscript came to completion. You all know who you are, too, but only I realize how much your faithfulness means.
